Windpoint:

     Ray Marine ST60 Wind

Botany Bay's uses Ray Marine SeaTalk instruments. The Ray Marine ST60 Windpoint provides an analog display of either the apparent or true wind angle (note that to get the true wind angle the ST60 speed controller must be working correctly i.e. the impeller turning and registering correctly). Without the speed through the water the instrument will only provide an accurate apparent wind angle.

The wind probe is mounted at the masthead and the primary display is on the forward bulkhead in the main solon. A repeater in a pod above the companionway provides the cockpit display for the helmsman. Using a repeater in the cockpit keeps the sensor wiring concentrated near the sensors (i.e. the base of the mast in this case) and the only connection required for the cockpit instruments is a single SeaTalk cable.

The manual and quick reference are both well written and useful.
