CAL 35
Text from Original Flyer  (1973)

The Cal 35. The cruiser
that combines luxury,
comfort and speed.

The ingenious and unique touches that Bill Lapworth has designed into the Cal 35 set her apart from other world cruisers. Even some many feet her size. If a perfect cruising yacht exists, Lapworth comes close to it here.

Inside she's roomy and comfortable. Whether you're anchored off Martinique in the Caribbean or running downhill across the Pacific to Tahiti, you'll live in style aboard the Cal 35.

Five people can be as alone as they want. The forward cabin is totally separated from the main solon. And a large oil skin locker aft isolates the quarter berth.

The luxurious main salon sleeps two with its spacious and comfortable convertible dinette layout. It also features nine large windows for magnificent visibility to port, starboard, aft, and forward.

The galley is as modern as any you'll find anywhere -- complete with ice chest, sink, and sheathed compartment for range and stove. Plus lots of stowage. Even for those long hauls.

The interior finish is as practical as it is luxurious. Designer-coordinated fabrics and vinyls blend beautifully with the rich Burmese teak.

The chart table is a full navigation console. With cabinetry for electronics and full instrumentation. Of course, there's a built-in shower and pressure hot and cold water. And all mechanical and electrical equipment is easy to get at. Making repair and maintenance a cinch.

From lazy island hopping
to the big ocean runs, relax
in style, yet get there fast.

The long water line, sleek hull lines and large 546 square feet of sail area give her great speed. For the cruising family, it means you'll get wherever you're going. Faster. On any point of sail. Yet in maximum comfort.

And she's easy to handle. The big modern spade rudder offers greater maneuverability and easier wheel steering control.

A shoal draft lets you sneak into shallow inlets. And the easy-to-get-at Perkins diesel and its fuel supply give you an 800-mile cruising range on power alone at 7 1/2 knots.

The new Cal 35 is another Cal boat innovation. It leaves all the luxury in a cruising yacht, but takes it out of the luxury price range down to a level people can afford.

We invite you to compare the new Cal 35 with any other cruising boat available today.
