Fresh Bottom Paint 2012
The "Bluewater CSR 67" hard bottom paint with "Bioboost" held up much better than I had expected. After just 4 months short of 4 years it was getting difficult for the diver to keep clean but was still holding up reasonably well. That paint was applied at "Knight and Carver" down in San Diego and they could not get that same paint again. While I very much enjoyed working with Knight and Carver I decided to try Windward Yacht Center in Marina Del Rey on the recommendation of friends. They recommended using Trinidad Red hard paint. Two coats were applied with a third coat on the waterline and the leading edges. We will see how this holds up. The adhesion of the paint appears to be good at this point. There were a couple of spots which tried to peel but not more than a few square inches. Windward Yacht Center applied the paint with a roller and did a very nice job.
