Line Cutter Refurbishment
The installed line cutters are from a company in England and are called "Strippers". The company provides rebuild kits shipped out of England  The installed unit is an AM10 on a 1.5" shaft. The common size unit for a 1.5" shaft is the AM15 which I had originally purchased a couple of rebuild kits. However, it was clear that the parts were the wrong size and the company graciously exchanged them for the correct kits.

The black line is the lightly seated position of the MaxProp showing plenty of clearance between the propeller hub and the line strippers. The critical dimension is the distance between the mount on the strut and the fixed cutter. The correct neutral (no load) position is 6mm. This allows for movement of the drive train when in forward or reverse. In the case of this vessel there is an "Aquadrive" system installed and it is easy to see how much the driveline moves by looking at the thrust bearing support washers and compressable vibration dampers.

Note that these pictures were taken before the hub was seated and the blades installed to determine the orientation of the rotating cutter blades. Once the hub was installed it was clear how to line up the rotating cutters with the propeller blades.
