Inverter:

     Heart Freedom 20

Originally had a Freedom 10 inverter, never needed more inverter capability but the Freedom 20 provides 100 amps of charging capacity rather than 50 amps and more closely matches that of the alternator making the energy management system have an easier job of determining battery bank efficiency.

Freedom 20 Inverter

The Freedom 20 Inverter has always provided all of the power I could possibly use. It produces a "modified sine wave" which is better described as a "stepped square wave" but marketing is what it is. The only equipment which seems to have issue with it is my Kyocera 6035 cell phone and the fluorescent lights buzz more than I would like.

.

The Link 2000-R performs three functions, control of the freedom 20 inverter, regulated charging from the alternator when the engine is running, and monitoring of battery charge state. Note that the original Freedom 20 control panel is also online at the same time. The trick is to receive the data link from the inverter but not transmitt commands back to the inverter. This way I have access to the DC consumption/charging rate of the inverter (not available on the link 2000R display) a bar graph of battery voltage, and some detailed error lights.
