| The primary bow anchor is a CQR
35, this anchor seems to always catch and hold. It is most likely the
original anchor purchased for the vessel.
I have tried other anchors, especially the CQR clones and have not found anything which works as well in a wide range of conditions. For a stern hook I have two 22 pound Danforth style anchors. These work well in sand but with significant plant growth, mud, rocks, or what have you they tend to pull out unexpectedly. They are great for anchoring up close to a beach as they are easy to check while swimming.
