Botany Bay Departs Likiep
Bound For Midway Island

One must always be vigilant for coral heads in the Marshall Islands. They are amazingly steep sided, often rising from 150 feet to just below the surface in a few short feet. More pictures of coral heads give you the idea.
The pass in and out of Likiep Atoll is not too difficult, as usual there are shallows to both sides, to port it appears to be sand shallows, to starboard a very sharp rise to a coral shelf. The water is deep right off the shelf. Be careful, the current can be significant and try to push you onto the shelf.
With the pass astern Tani and I start getting Botany Bay ready for the passage ahead.
Tani takes a good look at Likiep as it will be the last land we will see for almost two weeks. Midway Island next stop!
We were amazed to see a sea buoy just off the island of Likiep. There is no pass through the reef close to this point that I know of.
